Fagus syvatica Purpurea Beech Ornamental Tree 12 Litre Pot

A beautiful large deciduous tree with a densely pyramidal to rounded spreading crown. Red foliage appears in the spring that turns deep purple/green in summer and then bronzed for autumn. Small fruits, are produced in the autumn and are popular with deer and squirrels. Makes a great alternative to an evergreen hedge, as its foliage turns copper and then crispy brown in the winter, hanging on until new foliage emerges in spring.

They will grow in most soils provided they are not waterlogged, and will tolerate most sites except coastal. They prefer full sun or partial shade.
